Jim Page Camp Site Smoking Policy The Scout Association and the Camp Site has for the last 12 months had a restricted smoking policy where smoking has been positively discouraged. However with the current legislation we have a legal obligation in many areas. The Scout Association has a fact sheet FS320005 that gives positive advice that we will have to abide by.
Smoking in Group Camp Sites There is to be no smoking anywhere on the Group Camp Sites except in the designated smoking areas, as decided by the Group Leaders. Smoking will also not be allowed in personal tentage, as this causes the additional risk of personal injury as well as a threat to the camp site as a whole.
Smoking on the Main area (Public Areas) There is to be No Smoking in or adjacent to any building or marquee in the main areas of the site and in particular where there may be a large presence of young people. Smoking whilst walking around will also not be allowed, nor will smoking in toilets or shower areas.
General Conduct The smoking areas will need to be equipped with receptacles for the containment of smoking materials and all users of these areas are to ensure that they correctly used and all burning materials are correctly extinguished, before leaving the area.
Alcohol Policy The campsite is used by Scouts and other youth groups and as such we ask that all adults abide by the Scout Associations 'Alcohol and Scouting' guidance as found in Factsheet FS185092
Criminal Record Bureau All persons over the age of 18 years using our campsite must hold a current cleared Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check with the Scout Association or your own youth organisation. It is the person booking the site's responsibility to ensure these checks have been carried out and by using our site you are confirming that these checks have been completed.
Please note that it is the Leader booking the camp responsibility to ensure that all the above is explained to all members in your party and is responsible for the members conduct whilst on our campsite.
